Getting started

Getting started is simple - just complete the registration form. No need to sign a contract and no fees for the first 3 months.

Step 1

Fill in the online registration form.

Step 2

Complete your profile with personal details, credentials and referees with the option of uploading photos and other relevant documents.

Step 3

Select the Schools, ECE Centers or areas you are interested in being considered for Relief Teaching opportunities.

Step 4

Sit back and wait for the job notifications to start rolling in or apply for future positions - days, weeks or even months in advance.

What happens next?

Once you have registered with Relief Teaching New Zealand, we recommend that you keep your profile and availability calendar up to date and promote yourself as much as possible. Of course, we’ll help out by sending you prompts every now and then to keep on top of this.

When a Relief Teaching opportunity comes up that is in your area or is one of your ‘favourite’ schools, and you are available on the dates required, you will receive a job request by email:

Accept or Decline

Choose accept or decline by a simple press of a button on your smart phone, tablet or computer.

Notification

You will be notified if you are chosen for the Relief Teaching position, which automatically makes you unavailable for the duration of that position in your calendar.

Useful Information

You will be automatically sent useful information on the School or ECE Center ie. Teaching Philosophy, bell times, key contacts and an address with google map link.

Kept in the loop

Unsuccessful respondents will automatically be notified.

On the day...

the Relief Teacher turns up with all the information provided from the school's profile.

Always on file

Use the job information stored in your calendar to keep a record of your relief teaching history.
